A West of England devolution deal breakfast briefing was held on Friday 22 July, 2016 at Arcadis.

After months of negotiation, three councils in the west of England - Bristol City Council, Bath & North East Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council - voted in June 2016 to move ahead with the £1 billion devolution deal for the West of England.
Dr Patricia Greer, Programme Director for the devolution deal, provided an overview of the benefits and what the deal actually means for the region. Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol and Tim Warren, Leader of Bath & North East Somerset, strong advocates of the Deal also explained how we can start to "control our own economic destiny".

Prior to the four councils vote to more ahead in June 2016, key businesses expressed their support for the devolution deal.
