The West of England is an economic power house for the UK, with a £26 billion a year economy, contributing £10 billion to the Treasury, and as such is a net contributor to the UK economy.
The Impact Report 2015/16 provides key intelligence on exactly what the LEP is about; how the various parts work to support economic growth and business on the ground across the four local authority areas of Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
It complements the existing Success Map; ‘West of England – home of Knowledge, Innovation and Quality of Life’ that showcases the region's strengths, success stories and future opportunities.
Colin Skellett, Chair of the West of England LEP, said: “Our job as a LEP is to provide the framework for growth; both for those already here and for those looking to move in.. It’s also to make sure the wider issues of housing and infrastructure development keep pace with demand, making sure those in the West of England continue to enjoy the great quality of life that is such a differentiator for us”
