High Tech Bristol & Bath CIC
This group was established by the LEP High Tech sector group.
It was determined that an action orientated organisation was needed to enact the outcome of their discussions and agreed that a Community Interest Company would have the freedom to act quickly (as an independent, private sector organisation), but maintain the responsibility to support and develop the high tech sector.
HBB (the trading name of High Tech Bristol and Bath CIC) works with high tech companies in the Bristol and Bath region promoting, enhancing and developing technology. They do this by running Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that bring together companies, universities, research institutions, public sector, and not-for-profit organisations.
DigiLocal is designed around a hub’n’hub concept. Each community centre is a local hub able to deliver according to their local requirements and interests. As far as possible HBB will be using local ambassadors to deliver workshops with young people and local companies to sponsor smaller ‘consumable’ items and things like room hire. HBB is coordinating the provision of equipment, activity guides, and experts so that community centres can focus on supporting their young people in engaging with technology.
