Advanced Engineering Centre Extension, City of Bristol College a £4m project from the LGF
An extension to City of Bristol College’s Advanced Engineering Centre which will service the growing skills needs of the Advanced Engineering sector through the provision of skills training in areas such as the maintenance and operation of 3D printers and the use of composite materials.
Future Technology Centre, Weston College a £4.2m project with £2.7m from the LGF
Scheme description Project Completion update
The project has created a 1,500sqm Future Technology Centre to provide a flagship facility to up-skill learners with ‘work ready’ technology skills, across the following curriculum areas: Creative & Digital, Advanced Engineering/Civil Engineering/Automated Manufacturing and Low Carbon so that learners are both sector and technology ready.
The Future Technology Centre project completed works in June 2016 and opened to students in September 2016.
Law & Professional Services Academy, Weston College a £26m project with £14.9m from the LGF
Create a 7,300sqm Centre of Excellence for the area to meet the employability needs of the Law, Justice, Finance & Accounting, Professional & Business Services sectors. This will be located in the centre of Weston-super-Mare at the Winter Gardens and Arosfa Hotel.
The project will create a 2,885sqm specialist construction skills centre at Somer Valley Campus which will deliver construction skills training across the full range of construction disciplines and trades. The centre will offer training in the trades of Brickwork, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Stonemasonry and Refrigeration / Air Conditioning and will also deliver specialist training in renewables.
