£32m of funding for a package of capital works to extend and improve the facilities at a number of key further education establishments across the West of England.

Advanced Engineering Centre Extension, City of Bristol College a £4m project from the LGF
Project Completion update
An extension to City of Bristol College’s Advanced Engineering Centre to service the growing skills needs of the Advanced Engineering sector through the provision of skills training in areas such as the maintenance and operation of 3D printers and the use of composite materials. 
The extension was completed at the end of October 2017.

Future Technology Centre, Weston College a £4.2m project with £2.7m from the LGF
Project Completion
update
Creation of a 1,500sqm Future Technology Centre to provide a flagship facility to up-skill learners with ‘work ready’ technology skills, across the following curriculum areas: Creative & Digital, Advanced Engineering/Civil Engineering/Automated Manufacturing and Low Carbon so that learners are both sector and technology ready. 
The Future Technology Centre project completed works in June 2016 and opened to students in September 2016.

Law & Professional Services Academy, Weston College a £26m project with £14.9m from the LGF
Project Completion update
A 7,300sqm Centre of Excellence located in the centre of Weston-super-Mare at the Winter Gardens and Arosfa Hotel, to meet the employability needs of the Law, Justice, Finance & Accounting, Professional & Business Services sectors.
The first academy building, the refurbishment of the Hotel Arosfa was completed on 31 March 2016.  The second phase was the refurbishment of the Winter Gardens with a new build element completed 31 July 2017.

Construction Skills Centre, Bath College a £3.6m project with £2.7m from the LGF
Project Completion update
Creation of a 2,885sqm specialist construction skills centre at Somer Valley Campus to deliver construction skills training across the full range of construction disciplines and trades, including Brickwork, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Stonemasonry and Refrigeration / Air Conditioning and specialist training in renewables.
The building project completed in September 2017 as planned, and was operational and utilised for courses from the start of 2017/18 academic year.   

Increasing capacity of the British Engineering Manufacturers Association Training Centre, BEMA a £225k project with £75k from the LGF
An expansion of the existing BEMA Machine Shop, located in Yate, to respond to unmet learner and employer demand for apprenticeship provision.

Construction Skills Training Centre, Weston College a £3.87m project with £3.27m from the LGF
The creation of a highly industry-focused Infrastructure Construction Skills Centre to address the shortage of infrastructure construction and civils skills training in the WE LEP area in response to employer demand.

Health and Active Living Centre, Weston College a £10.3m project with £5.4m from the LGF
A training centre blending skills for health and social care with the wider health prevention and condition management agenda, delivered in one building and benefitting from existing facilities already on-site at the University Campus.
