New tech partnership with Jordan
Invest Bristol & Bath joined the launch of the UK Jordan Tech Hub in Amman a few weeks ago as part of a new partnership to help drive economic growth between the UK and Jordan.
Prof. Joe McGeehan, Chair of Invest Bristol & Bath says: "Bristol and Bath are widely recognised as one of the UK's hotspots of creativity and innovation, which is why this Tech Hub provides such an exciting opportunity for the region's companies to partner with Jordan's fast-growing technology sector."
Unveiled at a reception hosted by King Abdullah of Jordan, attended by a trade delegation from London, Glasgow and Northern Ireland, Bristol & Bath were specifically invited as a leading development base in the UK for innovation.
Jordan has more internet start-up companies than any other country in the Middle East and has been dubbed the Middle East's Silicon Valley which makes it an ideal destination to partner with Bristol & Bath who is at the centre of one of the largest cluster of silicon designers in the world
David Sproxton, co-founder and chairman of Aardman Animations says: "This Tech Hub will help further cement the region's reputation for innovation, technology and creativity and set up new and exciting partnerships with companies in the Arab world."
LEPs are driving economic growth across an economic area. They provide a means for local authorities to work together with business in order to quicken the economic recovery.
