Enterprise Adviser Network
Are you a school that wants to know more?
The world of work is changing fast. Small and medium size businesses account for the majority of employment opportunities in the West of England and across the UK. Enterprise Advisers are part of the West of England’s strategic economic plan to build a skilled and informed workforce to ensure that our young people are ready to cope with the fast pace of technological change. Volunteers from business will work directly with school and college leaders to form a powerful alliance to strengthen their strategic working and bridge the gap between the worlds of work and employment, bringing business and education closer together.
Aims of Enterprise Adviser network
The Enterprise Adviser network is a key initiative for the Careers & Enterprise Company which was set up by Government, as an employer-led body to help to unlock the potential of Britain’s young people. The West of England LEP will continue to work with business leaders and schools alike to support and develop talent in young people, to inspire and prepare for the fast-changing world of work.
The Adviser network is based on research that shows that greater contact with employers among young people leads to better employment outcomes.
The West of England LEP’s Coordinator, Beverly Walker will support the Enterprise Advisers in helping them work with schools to shape young people’s future employer engagement and better prepare then to meet the demands of employers.
