Business Skills Survey 2016
The findings will be used along with Local Sector Skills Statements to inform local and national skills strategies with government, funders, sector skills councils and other agencies. Shaping the city region's skills infrastructure and supporting businesses to access the right talent.
The final findings will be launched in January 2017.
A total of 1509 business based in the West of England responded to the survey. Operating across 15 sectors with diverse needs and practices, their responses indicate some key trends in future skills requirements. The results supported the development of a skills action plan with local FE colleges, including the new West of England Skills Prospectus 2017 for individuals and employers.
West of England LEP Director of Skills, Adam Powell said: “By bringing business and education closer together through this research, a greater shared understanding of local needs and demands will not only benefit employers, but individuals and the local economy as a whole. We simply can’t do this without the contributions of local businesses – their input and insights are invaluable and we’d very much like to hear their views.”
